Sr Specialist - Software Development & Engineering

Duties : Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Responsible for using SRE principles in supporting the operational reliability of real-time middleware integration applications. Partner with development teams in planning, system design and release procedures to improve services through rigorous testing and create sustainable software systems and services. Provide primary operational support and engineering for client critical applications. Run the production environment by monitoring availability taking a holistic view of system health and improve reliability, optimize application and system performance. Partner with multiple support teams to provide guidance and drive adoption of key reliability engineering practices in support of large-scale and mission-critical services. Participate in timely auditing practices to ensure systems and services are compliant as per security guidelines. Demonstrate interest in learning new and existing technologies to deliver exceptional solutions for the production resiliency of our systems. Position allows for 100% remote work. Reports to company HQs in Westlake, TX. Subject to Schwab's internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $ 149,781 to $160,800 per year
What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field and 60 months of progressive, post-Bachelor's experience in a related occupation. Experience must include the following: Software development life cycle for Java and .Net applications; IBM DataPower gateways using SOAP, REST, SSL and TLS protocols and certificates, cipher suites, APIGEE, and Kafka; Splunk, AppD, or Moogsoft for monitoring and alerting; Bash, Python, or PowerShell scripting; TCP IP, HTTP, packet capture, Firewall rules, Google Cloud Platform, PCF, BIG-IP and F5 load balancer using GTM and LTM; MongoDB database, Aerospike, and Redis caching databases; and, ANT, Gradle, SaltStack, Bitbucket, Harness or Bamboo.
