Role Description:
Data Analyst, the role contributes to producing data and process solutions for a wide range of stakeholders in Risk, in order to assist Market Risk and Counterparty Risk model performance monitoring and model development, stress-testing and backtesting, and Risk Management explains.
In particular, this role will be dedicated to managing data extraction for processes and interacting with upstream data owners in order to ensure GMRA processes can deliver on Regulatory, Audit and Risk Management requests in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
You are expected to interact with colleagues, Model owners, data owners, Risk managers and Technology teams. You must be delivery oriented to meet our stakeholders' requirements, including Regulators, Senior management, Audit, Model validation and Internal SMEs.
As a Data Analyst within Global Risk dedicated to managing data extraction and interactions with data providers, your responsibilities within the team will be to:
Understand origin & limitations of the data feeding our processes.
Escalate issues related to data sourcing or data quality
Establish SLA and obtain support
Understand and gather data lineage information
Assist the team in integrating new data sources or modifying existing ones
Document findings and educate the rest of GMRA on data considerations.
Work alongside experienced Quants and developers
Clearly communicate on outcomes to stakeholders and senior management
Contribute to and follow the team and Enterprise internal standards
Plan delivery and releases with Technology
Deliver in line with the team priorities, GRA's strategy and stakeholders' requirements.
What we are looking for:
Prior experience working with data providers in Technology, e.g. Market Risk Suite.
Prior knowledge of internal systems used to extract data, e.g. Quartz.
Programming skills in SQL and Python.
Ability to work well within a team based development environment
Ability to get to grips with a large and complicated systems
Great communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise documentation
Considerable problem solving skills with the ability to tackle issues independently
Team player
Skills that will help:
Degree in computer science is a plus
Prior experience with SDLC tools and JIRA is a plus
Process automation experience a plus
