About The Role

We are seeking a QA Representative / QC Inspector to join our corporate team supporting federal initiatives! This position is full-time and will be based out of Amarillo, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Interdisciplinary support of the organization to ensure operational success.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of programs and processes in pursuit of GEM’s organizational goals.
  • Development and conduct of training for Quality Assurance processes.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Project Quality Plans and Procedures as required by contract specifications.
  • Review and endorsement of procurement documentation for compliance with Quality requirements.
  • Implementation and training of GEM’s suspect/counterfeit items prevention program.
  • Performance of inspections including receipt inspections of commercial, Commercial Grade Dedication, and ASME NQA-1 safety-related materials.
  • Review and make suggestions for improvement of operational instructions (work packages, project procedures, etc.)
  • Perform visual inspection of project activities and document results as required by contract specifications and GEM programs.
  • Serve as custodian for calibrated Measuring & Test Equipment: prepare procurement documentation; perform receipt inspection; maintain storage, issuance, and records; ensure proper use of M&TE by verbal instruction and demonstration as needed; maintain M&TE database
  • Inventory control of quality-related goods.
  • Identify and resolve Nonconformances and Corrective Actions in accordance with approved procedures, including 10 CFR 21, 10 CFR 50.5e, and 10 CFR 830 as applicable.
  • Ensure Quality Records are appropriately completed, reviewed, and routed for closeout and retention.
  • As directed by the QAM, perform surveillance/audit of project and/or vendor activities.

Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – High School Diploma and 2+ years of construction quality assurance/quality control field experience implementing and documenting the results of oversight, surveillances, inspections, or tests that are required to be performed in accordance with documented procedures, acceptable standards, and/or industry practices.
  • Must has at least 2 years of Quality Assurance and/or Control experience
  • Must have worked on projects implementing ASME NQA-1 compliant quality assurance programs and procedures
  • Experience implementing ASME NQA-1 quality requirements in a field construction quality role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in formal and informal applications.
  • Ability to perform tasks and achieve goals proactively and autonomously.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform constructive peer reviews for the project team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 programs including word, excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with use of OneDrive.
  • Experience providing reasonable assurance for quality task and oversight responsibilities.
  • Requisite knowledge, training, required certification, experience, and skills to successfully comprehend and implement assigned quality roles and responsibilities for quality related projects including DOE O 414.1D and ASME NQA-1 requirements.
  • The ability to learn and implement the Contractors’ quality program.
  • Prior experience conducting inspections, identifying quality deficiencies, initiating non-conformances, and enforcing quality requirements for Contractor and sub-tier personnel.
  • Experience with MT&E use, calibration, certification, and records.

Desired Skills

  • Experience implementing DOE O 414.1D requirements preferred.
  • Past performance in procedure writing is preferred.
  • Experience with document control and processes is preferred.
  • Audit experience is preferred.
