As a Process Development Engineer, you will be instrumental in the development and evaluation of novel DAC systems onsite in our facility in Atlanta, Georgia. You will work alongside our experienced team of engineers and use your skillset to propel the development and deployment of our DAC systems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline with 2-5+ years of industry experience. Candidates with Masters and/or PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering or related fields are highly encouraged to apply as well.
  • Strong proficiency in modelling chemical engineering processes using programs such as Aspen Plus.
  • Adept in solving process design related challenges with a particular focus in mass and energy balances, mechanical/moving equipment, adsorption units, and air handling (i.e., blowers, compressors, vacuums, piping, etc.).
  • Experience with pilot-scale equipment design and/or assisting in scaling-up a process.
  • Skilled at implementing laboratory data to a scale-up modeling.
  • This position requires you to be on-site at our Atlanta, GA facility for a minimum of 3 days per week. Remote worked allowed for other days of the week.
  • This position requires physical activities including climbing stairs or ladders, stooping, crouching to work on equipment, operating machinery and lifting and carrying loads of
  • 40 pounds or more. May require standing or sitting for long periods of time to perform specific operations.

Job Responsibilties

Responsibilities

At a start-up, you will be required to wear many hats to support the development of this critical technology. However, below are more specific responsibilities for this role:

  • Support technology development of novel DAC processes. This involves knowledge of thermodynamics, heat/mass transfer, fluid flow, chemical reactions and process dynamics.
  • Model mass and energy balances through various types of equipment such as heat exchangers, adsorption beds, blowers, etc.
  • Design and model pilot-scale adsorption systems
  • Prepare communications that highlight modeling results or pilot-scale design parameters.
  • Provide input in techno-economic analyses.
  • Assist in various laboratory activities when necessary
  • Maintain a safe working environment and laboratory environment
