Responsibilities

Zelestra is looking for a highly motivated individual to play a key role in our fast-growing and well-established Development team. The Associate will be a key supporting member of the Development team. You will support and have responsibilities spanning all stages of development from market entry analysis through notice to proceed. This role requires someone with development experience in large scale renewable energy projects. Responsibilities to include;

  • Assist in developing Zelestra projects including interfacing with consultants, local authorities, landowners & local communities, developers, offtakers, and transmission authorities
  • Assist in tracking development status of projects in its pipeline and liaising with developers to help to deliver projects to ready-to-build on time
  • Assist in project scheduling management through activities definition, sequencing, resources, and duration estimation , track and report on project financials, including budgets and cash flows”
  • Assist in managing relationships with landlords and tenants and liaising with developers and various land agents
  • Assist in internal reporting to support management and investment decisions
  • Assist in permit application preparation and agency submittals and attend hearings and community meetings as needed
  • Assist in Interconnection application preparation and submittals
  • Review and summarize third party consultant reports
  • Support offtake opportunities including RFP responses, PPA negotiations, and coordinating resources
  • Support other departments including acquisitions, finance, accounting, and EPC
  • Stay current on market developments including market trends, RFP opportunities, customers, state and federal policy changes, tariffs and tax incentives, renewable energy and energy transition technologies, and assist in disseminating relevant information to internal stakeholders
  • Review 3rd party consultant reports and distill key info to internal team members
  • Gather information, develop insights, and communicate insights/recommendations to Manager and/or internal team members
  • Ensure the smooth transition of projects to the EPC team

Job Requirements

  • BA or BS in a relevant field; MBA or MA is a plus
  • 1 year + of renewable energy industry experience, ideally in Project Development
  • Experience with Utility Scale Solar, Wind or BESS projects. Experience in MISO, SERC, ERCOT and SPP is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages and complexities
  • Understanding of the development process for renewable energy projects in various regions of the U.S.
  • Strong ability to perform at a high level in a matrixed organization managing multiple projects and relationships simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Organized with a High high attention to detail and curiosity
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, scheduling. and presentation tools
  • Acquisitions: Seller Dataroom doc management, Seller Q&A, IC Committee slide deck support
  • Accounting: Project-level invoicing & cost management
  • Finance: project-level financial model, financier due diligence,
  • EPC: real estate & permitting requirements
  • Strong decision-making skills when faced with uncertainty
