We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Vice President of Operations for our fast-growing construction company. As the VP of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business. This is a unique opportunity to join a company that is leveraging its long-standing reputation and expertise to drive innovation in the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

As the VP of Operations, you will be responsible for the overall management of our construction operations. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Overseeing the planning, design, and construction of single-family homes and track homes.
  • Managing and coordinating with various teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Implementing strategies to improve operational efficiency and performance.
  • Managing relationships with contractors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Developing and managing the operations budget, including forecasting and planning for future needs.
  • Establishing performance metrics, monitoring performance, and implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing operations team.
  • Collaborating with other senior leaders to set strategic goals and drive business growth.
  • Lead and manage operations across multiple project sites, ensuring financial performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and execute an operations strategy that aligns with our growth objectives.
  • Oversee and hold accountable all direct reports, including project managers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure timely project completion while monitoring costs and resources across all territories.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the operations team.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within the construction industry, specifically with home builder, single-family, and production builds.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations, with a particular emphasis on track homes and concrete construction.
  • Proven experience in managing budgets, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and manage relationships with contractors.
  • A track record of improving operational efficiency and performance.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in team building and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to think strategically and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • A degree in construction management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
