Director of IT

Position Overview:
We are seeking an innovative and strategic Director of IT to lead our technology and project management teams. In this role, you will collaborate closely with executive leadership to align IT strategies with the company s overall business goals, manage IT infrastructure, and oversee key IT projects. You will also be responsible for developing a long-term IT vision that supports the organization s growth and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Key Qualifications:
  • Professional Certification: PMP or other relevant project management certifications preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 6-8 years of experience in IT, with strong exposure to software implementation, IT infrastructure management, and project management. Experience with ERP systems and data warehousing is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), IT service management (ITSM), ERP systems, and cybersecurity frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align IT strategies with overall business goals and objectives.
  • Develop and communicate a strategic IT vision that supports the organization s long-term plans, ensuring technology initiatives are aligned with business needs.
  • Engage with key business leaders to understand their technology needs and priorities, focusing on process automation, system integrations, and data-driven decision-making.
IT Infrastructure & System Performance:
  • Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other critical metrics.
  • Create and maintain a technology roadmap outlining the adoption of new technologies and the decommissioning of outdated systems.
  • Oversee the setup, maintenance, and optimization of IT infrastructure, including servers and networking, to support business objectives efficiently.
Project & Portfolio Management:
  • Provide oversight and direction for major IT projects, ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery.
  • Prioritize IT projects based on business needs and strategic objectives, leveraging effective methodologies for project execution and evaluation.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve IT processes to enhance performance and operational efficiency.
Risk & Security Management:
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate IT-related risks, including cybersecurity threats and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to protect the organization s information assets and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
  • Facilitate IT security audits or investigations, ensuring the integrity and security of IT systems and data.
Resource Management & Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a collaborative culture of continuous improvement.
  • Allocate IT resources effectively to support both projects and ongoing operations, focusing on skill development and efficient communication.
  • Develop team members capabilities to meet evolving business and technology requirements.
Vendor & Budget Management:
  • Oversee relationships with IT vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring that service-level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for their potential impact on the organization and recommend investments as needed.
Compliance & Policy Development:
  • Create, establish, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards that ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure all IT operations and activities are compliant with industry standards and government regulations.
