Location: Richmond, with frequent travel across Texas

Work schedule: M-F, 8am 5pm (40h per week)

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Field Systems Administrator to join our team. This role is critical in developing our Managed Service Provider (MSP) services, supporting client IT infrastructure, and ensuring smooth project implementation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in MSP operations, with a focus on managing tickets, performing site visits, and
troubleshooting server and network issues. This position will involve both on-site and remote technical support and collaboration with L3 engineers and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain MSP services and operations.
  • Manage and resolve tickets related to IT infrastructure, including Windows servers and network issues.
  • Implement and maintain backup solutions (Acronis, Veeam) and manage RMM/PSA tools (e.g., ConnectWise).
  • Ensure security compliance and manage antivirus solutions.
  • Conduct site visits across Texas for project implementation and troubleshooting. (Dallas, Beaumont, San-Antonio)
  • Provide technical support to end-users, both remotely and on-site at L2 and above.
  • Collaborate with L3 engineers and the physical team for project implementation.
  • Maintain and configure internal IT systems and provide end-user training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A valid drivers license and a reliable car for travel (mileage reimbursement provided).
  • Proficiency in Active Directory (AD), DHCP, DNS, and MS Exchange.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with backup systems (Acronis, Veeam).
  • Understanding of the OSI model and ability to explain technical procedures to non-technical users.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and work in a flexible environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong IT background.
  • Knowledge of technology processes, infrastructure, information security, servers, and
  • network technologies (layer 2 and up).
  • 2+ years of experience supporting core Microsoft end user technologies (Windows 10, Windows 11, Microsoft Office, Microsoft365) in a help desk role.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting Microsoft infrastructure technologies (Windows Server and related).
  • 2+ years Cisco and Fortinet Network Security Expert certifications or equivalent experience with Fortinet security products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cloud Backup systems
  • Experience with cloud backup systems and cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with Cisco (CCNA), Fortinet, Ubiquity, and other network vendors.
  • Experience with ConnectWise RMM/PSA, Acronis Cloud, Windows Server (2016-2022),
  • Cisco Meraki, Google Admin, VoIP, UniFi systems, CCTV systems, and Active Directory.
  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • Prior experience in the MSP field is a big plus.
  • Experience with cybersecurity protocols or compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PCI DSS)
