Title of Position: Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain
Responsibilities:
  • The Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain identifies process bottlenecks and implements timely, effective solutions.
  • The Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain manages inventory with established controls to achieve optimal performance based on key metrics, minimizing supply chain risks, as part of their duties.
  • The Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain will participate in both existing and new product planning processes to ensure timely acquisition of materials for product launches; develops strategies, policies, and procedures to maximize operational value.
  • Leads negotiations for major contracts and manages departmental budgets; establishes annual goals and objectives aligned with corporate objectives, including stretch targets.
  • Collaborates with Operations, Marketing, and Sales teams on essential projects to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Leads and mentors team members in maintaining high standards of quality control and safety; continuously improves supplier programs.
  • Determines key supply chain KPIs and provides constructive feedback to drive performance improvements.
  • The Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain must build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure reliable supply chain partnerships.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to procurement practices.

Qualifications:
  • The Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain will have a robust background with at least 10 years of experience in supply chain management
  • Deep knowledge of supply chain best practices is a must for the Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain, including procurement, logistics, inventory control, and demand forecasting
  • The Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain will have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of making informed decisions based on comprehensive data analysis
  • Strong communication abilities, facilitating effective collaboration across all levels of the organization and with external partners is a necessity of the Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain
  • The Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain will be technologically savvy, particularly with supply chain management software, to drive modernization and efficiency
