ALTA IT Services has a direct hire opening for an experienced IT Business Analyst to join a Columbia, MD-based healthcare IT company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis, with expertise in IT systems and technologies. Additionally, experience in the healthcare industry and experience or familiarity with FHIR standards is highly desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for IT projects, including system functionality, data integration, and process improvement
  • Review, understand, and analyze FHIR standards and frame requirements accordingly
  • Conduct detailed analysis of business processes, systems, and data to identify adherence to standards and efficiency improvement
  • Develop and document detailed technical specifications, system workflows, and other relevant artifacts to guide software development teams in building IT solutions
  • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions, including interfaces, APIs, and other integrations
  • Collaborate with development, testing, QA, and project management, to ensure successful delivery
  • Provide end-user training documentation for applications; may need to provide end-user support at times
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, security standards, and data privacy requirements, such as HIPAA and other regulations
  • Participate in quality assurance and testing activities to validate system functionality, performance, and quality
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to understand their business needs

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst, with a strong understanding of business analysis methodologies and best practices
  • Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements, conducting process analysis, and developing technical specifications for IT projects
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry standards and regulations, such as HIPAA, HL7, and FHIR, is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and information
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall, and experience working with development teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing requirements, and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work
  • Professional certifications in business analysis, such as CBAP or CCBA, are a plus
  • Proactive, Self-starter, and self-sufficient to work without constant oversight
