Pay Range: Up to $85,000 / year depending on experience

Job Description:

The Network Administrator will lead and manage the migration from Juniper to Ubiquiti network environments and from Palo Alto firewalls to either Sophos or Fortinet firewalls. This role involves hands-on configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the network infrastructure during and after the migration. The ideal candidate will ensure a smooth transition while maintaining network security, performance, and scalability.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute the migration of network infrastructure from Juniper to Ubiquiti devices, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
  • Lead the transition from Palo Alto firewalls to Sophos or Fortinet, including configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain Ubiquiti network equipment (routers, switches, wireless) to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Manage the installation, configuration, and administration of Sophos or Fortinet firewalls to secure the network.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues during the migration process and ensure stability post-transition.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to integrate Ubiquiti and Sophos systems with existing infrastructure.
  • Conduct security assessments and apply appropriate policies to ensure the network remains secure throughout the migration.
  • Document all configurations, processes, and changes related to the migration and new network setup.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to the IT team for managing and maintaining Ubiquiti and Sophos systems.
  • Monitor and maintain network performance, stability, and security post-migration.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest networking and security technologies, with a focus on Ubiquiti and Sophos solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in network administration, with expertise in Juniper, Ubiquiti, Palo Alto, and Sophos systems.
  • Hands-on experience migrating network infrastructure from Juniper to Ubiquiti and from Palo Alto to Sophos firewalls.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles, firewall configuration, and network troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve complex network issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to document procedures and train team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CCNA, Sophos Certified Engineer, JNCIA (Juniper), or equivalent.
  • Experience with network monitoring and automation tools.
  • Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and network protocols.
