As a Cloud Architect, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing cloud solutions specifically tailored to the Azure platform. Your expertise in Azure technologies will be instrumental in developing and executing Azure strategies, ensuring the successful deployment and operation of Azure-based systems. You will be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions that align with an organization's objectives. This individual will work closely with the Engineering, Applications Support, and Infrastructure teams to securely design, build, test, and deploy a highly scalable environment in our Azure Cloud. Our teams use the Azure DevOps and Portal Platforms, Azure Pipelines, Terraform, and several native Azure services to help deliver our applications and services. - Military Veterans Encouraged to Apply.

Requirements:

  • U.S Citizenship is required.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • This position is currently remote but will change to hybrid (remote/onsite) in the near future due to government requirement.

Skills and Qualifications:

Proficiency in Azure services and technologies, including but not limited to Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, Azure App Service, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Event Grid, Azure Cosmos DB, etc.
Strong knowledge of scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other relevant languages.
Experience with Azure infrastructure as code tools, such as ARM templates or Terraform.
Familiarity with Azure monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, Azure Application Insights, etc.
Understanding of Azure database technologies, both relational (e.g., Azure SQL Database) and NoSQL (e.g., Azure Cosmos DB).
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies, specifically tailored for Azure environments.
Required minimum 2yr experience with solutions and platforms such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, SharePoint, and Databricks

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree ( Master's preferred) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Azure Cloud Architect or a similar role.
Extensive experience designing and implementing cloud solutions specifically on the Azure platform.
Proven track record of successful Azure migrations and system implementations.
Strong knowledge of Azure architectural patterns, including Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, microservices, containers, serverless computing, and multi-tier applications.
Proficiency in Azure infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment automation using tools like Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, PowerShell, or Azure CLI.
Expertise in Azure security principles and best practices, including Azure Active Directory, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Azure Security Center, and data encryption.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools specific to Azure, such as Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Azure Container Registry, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
Solid understanding of Azure networking concepts, including virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, and load balancing.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex Azure-related issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at various levels.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop scalable and secure Azure cloud architectures that align with business goals and objectives.
Evaluate existing on-premises infrastructure and applications, identifying opportunities for migration and optimization within the Azure cloud.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical guidance on Azure solutions and services.
Define Azure deployment models based on the organization's needs.
Select and implement appropriate Azure services and tools to meet business requirements, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency.
Develop Azure migration strategies, including data migration, application migration, and infrastructure migration.
Establish Azure security measures and compliance frameworks, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Monitor Azure infrastructure and applications, proactively identifying and resolving performance issues and security vulnerabilities.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams for designing and developing Azure-native applications.
Stay up-to-date with emerging Azure technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance our Azure capabilities.
Collaborate with systems administrators, developers, stakeholders, and leadership to develop consensus-based outcomes around cloud infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, management, and troubleshooting.
Develop tools, scripts or templates that automate cloud security controls, governance, compliance validations and operational processes.
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate deployment processes and improve efficiency. Ensure that all that can be automated is automated.
Implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring proper access controls and permissions.
Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud services and Infrastructure as Code utilizing SecDevOps tooling and practices.
Research, evaluate, and deploy advanced cloud computing systems and large data analytics for clients in research and production areas.
Support a range of clients from front line analysts to researchers and senior leadership.
Experience in building pipelines using Scripting languages like Python, Spark, etc.
Strong experience in cloud architecture, design, and cost optimization/blueprints.
Analyze, design, implement and collaborate with the team to refactor code, update configurations, and implement improvements for performance, security, and maintainability.
Experience in provisioning AWS/Azure Cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation, Serverless Framework, Serverless Application Model.
