Role Overview: Key Data is experiencing significant growth and is poised to capitalize on market opportunities within the short-term rental data industry. To seize those opportunities, we are seeking an experienced accounting leader to act as a strategic partner and critical member of the finance team by providing hands-on management of the accounting function. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Finance and work closely with the Key Data executive team and with the primary institutional investor, Pamlico Capital.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver on day-to-day accounting operations, including financial statement preparation, payables, receivables, payroll, treasury, and tax preparation, and ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with GAAP
• Develop and enhance financial reporting and forecasting that evaluate key variances, understand key metrics performance, and identify key profitability drivers / outcomes
• Coordinate the annual audit processes and tax return preparation processes in collaboration with external CPA firm to drive to execution
• Oversee the monthly close process and implement enhancements to create efficiency
• Work directly with customers and vendors to streamline processes that require information sharing
• Manage the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts
• Collaborate closely with the VP of Finance on cash management processes, debt evaluation, and investor and Board of Directors reporting
• Calculate and oversee sales commissions processes

Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred

• Minimum 5 combined years of professional work experience in accounting/finance in a small, high growth technology or professional services business, or public accounting
• Excellent knowledge of technical accounting and compliance; recent experience with the software industry and related accounting extremely helpful
• Eager to play a hands-on role in the creation and delivery of all accounting and financial statement operations and posses a solid understanding of GAAP accounting
• Proven ability to build analytical frameworks and manage processes
