Job Summary:
The Developer II/III will provide enterprise level software operation and maintenance support for the Air Force metrology, ground support equipment, tools, and industrial plan equipment business areas. This software is an integrated tracking/control system for facilities and equipment maintenance, calibration of precision measurement equipment, and tool management. The applicant will use industry standard development and programming practices to design, modify, and develop code to support these systems.
Responsibilities:
- Uses Java, JavaScript, J2EE, JSP, Jython, Python, Perl, PL/SQL, HTML, XML, and Maximo to deliver technical systems support.
- Takes input from end users to design and develop solutions that meet their needs.
- Creates intuitive and elegant user interfaces to interact with complex hardware.
- Creates business logic to interact with data from hardware as well as user input.
- Prepares detailed specifications and other documentation to write and evaluate software programs.
- Participates in technical interchange meetings, design sessions, and unit testing efforts.
- Uses industry-standard software development best practices to identify requirements and develop solutions.
- Executes quality controls to meet and maintain established software development standards.
- Helps foster a collaborative, team-based environment, sharing standard methodologies while building positive relationships.
- Actively participates in Scrum ceremonies leading to a well refined Backlog of Epics with their right sized Stories, Bugs, and Defects as well as continuous team growth and improvement.
Required Abilities/Experience:
- 5+ years related programming and development experience will consider applicants with less experience who have demonstrated their ability to develop Java-based applications.
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of the Maximo application.
- Excellent understanding of coding methods.
- Experience using Oracle Databases and writing in PL/SQL.
- Self-driven with the ability to manage workload without direct supervision.
- Ability to anticipate potential problems and act to minimize their impact.
- Demonstrated ability to implement agile development methodologies, tools, and processes in an operational environment.
Desired Abilities/Experience:
- Previous experience migrating an on-prem solution to the Azure Cloud.
- Experience executing within a customer-centric environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Minimum Education:
- HS diploma with 9 years IT experience
- Associates with 7 years IT experience
- Bachelor s with 5 years IT experience
Job Stipulations:
- Must maintain DOD 8570 required certification, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
