Position Summary:

A manufacturer of packaging solutions is looking for a new Area Operations Manager. This role will oversee strategy for their corrugate manufacturing operations in the Northwest. In this position you will be expected to travel more than 65% of the time, visiting manufacturing plants within the region.

The Area Operations Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Defining the strategic direction for the area's annual capital plan, including setting operational goals and expectations.
  • Developing and managing the annual capital budget, with ongoing adjustments as needed in coordination with corporate.
  • Supporting and coordinating significant capital projects in the region.
  • Aligning strategic, infrastructure, and maintenance capital projects with local operational plans.
  • Executing and managing both maintenance and discretionary capital projects.
  • Building and implementing annual operational targets related to throughput, yield, and maintenance planning.
  • Ensuring reliability and coaching location Plant Managers and Superintendents to meet corporate and regional expectations.
  • Supervising and mentoring Plant Optimization Engineers (POEs) assigned to the region.
  • Promoting employee growth and development across the area's plants.

The Area Operations Manager should have the following qualifications:

  • 8+ years of leadership experience in the corrugated industry, with a strong record of success.
  • Solid financial and business management skills.
  • Proven experience in leading manufacturing teams to achieve operational excellence in areas such as throughput, risk management, and quality systems.
  • Expertise in establishing preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage costs effectively and maximize production yield.
  • Experience leading large-scale or complex strategic business projects, including capital project management from ROI analysis to execution.
