The Role

Responsibilities:

Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications for our Digital client facing platform & supports business units or supporting functions for Benefits online.

Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies, software, hardware and tools.

Work with and collaborate with other programmers and Engineering partners to ensure successful delivery and implementation of the software application.

Will also collaborate with administrators to provide technical support. Communication and organization skills are key for this position, along with a problem-solution attitude.

Requirements

You are:

10+ years of extensive background in Java coding to interact with external systems and databases in a distributed architecture, using REST, JDBC, various native connectors, etc.

Extensive background in coding to interact with end users delivering elegant UIs

Profi cient in industry standard best practices such as Design Patterns, Coding Standards, Coding modularity,Prototypes, UI useability and working with big data sets and analytics.

Testing, debugging, and refactoring both new and existing code

Delivery of best in class applications and automation tools

Communicates well

Expert web development experience; including programming and developing web applications [Java/J2EE, JSP, Servlet, Javascript, Jquery, Ajax, Bootstrap, Kendo UI, React JS, REST, JSON, Tomcat]

Expert with Web Services and UI experience

Experience with Cassandra, Datastax Enterprise

Experience in relational databases (such as Oracle, MS SQL or MySQL)

Understanding of both Windows and Linux environments

Desired Skills

Kafka experience

Splunk experience

Experience in scripting charts and visualizations of analytic results

Experience in developing big data applications a serious plus

Understanding of Agile methodology

Python experience a plus
