  1. Make sure the webpage is open.

  5. On the left, click Content Blockers.
  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

GEMTEC is a dynamic growing engineering and environmental sciences firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Laboratory Technician/ Technologist to us in our Oshawa location. Strongly rooted in employee ownership. GEMTEC understands that creative, talented employees are assets, and that investing in employee development is an investment in our future.

We currently have an opening for a Laboratory Technician/Technologist in our Oshawa, ON office.

The successful candidate will have the following:

Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • College level diploma is considered an asset.
  • Experience with laboratory test procedures for soil, concrete and aggregate considered an asset but not necessary as training will be provided.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong multi-tasking, organization, and planning skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office for data entry.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Possess ability to lift 30-50lbs on a daily basis.

Main Duties:

  • Laboratory testing of aggregates, soil, and concrete.
  • Various office, laboratory, and field tasks related to materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and environmental engineering.
  • Record test data and prepare factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results.
  • Performing other related duties as required.
  • Following all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
