Reporting to the Senior Director, Strings Leader, the Sales Specialist of the Strings Division is responsible for supporting the sales and marketing of Martin Guitar's fretted instrument strings (guitar, mandolin, banjo and ukelele strings) through various channels and initiatives. This position works closely with the Senior Product Manager, Strings, and the Sales team to create and deliver effective sales and training materials, coordinate the Strings Ambassador sampling program, coordinate field and channel initiatives, and develop Point of Sale (POS) and Customer Experience (CX) initiatives.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the Channels Account Coordinator, create and update sales and training materials for fretted instrument strings, such as product information, sell sheets, build sheets, photography, presentations, videos, webinars, etc.
  • Supports District Sales Managers in achieving sales goals for Strings and serving account needs, including order fulfillment, promotions, rebates and marketing.
  • With direction from the Strings Leader, help develop and coordinate the Strings Ambassador sampling program, which involves recruiting, training, and rewarding Martin employees and players who sample strings
  • Coordinate field and channel initiatives for fretted instrument strings, such as trade shows, clinics, demos, contests, etc., to increase brand awareness and generate leads for strings.
  • In coordination with the Channels Account Coordinator, develop and implement Point of Sale (POS) and Customer Experience (CX) programs, such as merchandising, signage, displays, events etc., to enhance the retail presence and customer satisfaction of strings.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance and feedback of fretted instrument strings sales and marketing activities and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Product Manager, Strings, and the Sales team to align sales and marketing objectives and strategies.

Position Requirements:

  • College degree and/or 3+ years' experience in sales and marketing of musical instruments or related products.
  • Knowledge of the guitar and fretted instrument strings market and customer needs.
  • Ability to play guitar or ukulele a plus.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing effective sales and marketing campaigns, materials, and programs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Outlook and approach that supports collaboration.
  • Ability to travel occasionally required.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office products required.
