Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with architects, designers, and project managers to translate design concepts into accurate and comprehensive construction documents.
  • Participates in conceptual design and provides full support throughout the entire project.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on specialized systems.
  • Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects.
  • Coordinates with Principals on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies. Project size differentiates this position from the senior level.
  • Oversee the production of architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, utilizing industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Lead and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance, training, and support in developing technical skills and understanding project requirements.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams, including consultants, engineers, and contractors, to ensure design integrity and coordination.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to meet project milestones and client expectations.
  • Review and ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and project specifications throughout all design and construction phases.
  • Participate in site visits and field observations to verify construction progress, resolve design-related issues, and provide accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate in selecting materials, finishes, and construction methods that align with project goals, performance requirements, and sustainability standards.
  • Contribute to design reviews, presentations, and client meetings, presenting technical information and addressing inquiries.
  • Assist in preparing project proposals, bids, and contracts by providing accurate technical documentation and scope details.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in architecture and design.
  • Coordination with the design team to review invoices.
  • Ensure that design and construction documents comply with all relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Passion for innovative design, sustainability, and architectural excellence.
  • Oversee and organize project files, documentation, and revisions to maintain accuracy and accessibility.
  • Participate in design reviews, construction document coordination, and project meetings, presenting technical information and addressing inquiries.
  • Assist in the preparation of project specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Conduct on-site visits and field inspections to verify construction progress, resolve design-related issues, and provide accurate documentation.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff members, providing support, training, and sharing technical knowledge.
  • Contribute to implementing and refining BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes and standards as applicable.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in architectural design and project leadership.
  • Advanced understanding of building systems, construction methodologies, and industry regulations.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills to effectively communicate design concepts.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using architectural software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
  • Proficiency in architectural software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
  • Ability to complete projects with little supervision and complete the QA/QC process.
  • Experience with site verification, design/planning, documentation, and construction administration.
  • Experience coordinating Architectural, MEP, Structural, and Civil disciplines.
  • Leadership ability with a track record of guiding project teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Prepares strategic plans for project success.
  • Responsible for coordinating all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
  • Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client s satisfaction.
  • Actively manages client budgets, schedules, and programs; project communications and documentation; office administrative tasks; and project team assignments.
  • Estimates fees, determines scope of work, and prepares proposals and contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • LEED AP+.
  • Completion of AXP
  • 2+ years of Project Management.
  • Retail and multi-site project experience.
  • Retail prototype experience.
  • Experience processing entitlements and permit approvals in jurisdictions throughout the US.
  • Management experience of direct reports.
  • Involvement in professional organizations
