We are looking for a EHP Logistics System Management Engineer (Senior Project Engineer- Technical Project Management ). This person will lead the NASA Johnson Space Centers' (JSC) Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Human Surface Mobility (HSM) Program (EHP) in the integration and execution of hardware logistic planning and deliveries for NASA's Artemis Programs. This position will integrate the EHP Project Teams Logistic requirements with external Programs (such as Gateway and Human Lander System (HLS)) to enable EVA operations at Gateway and Lunar Surface Operations. As an EHP Logistics System Management Engineer, this position will be an integral part of NASA's EHP System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Team and will lead other project team engineers in the execution of logistic services.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX, offering a hybrid work model that combines 3 regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow.

What You'll Be Doing
  • The primary customers for this group are NASA's SE&I Managers responsible for EHP integration across all Project Teams and collaborating with external Programs (Orion, Gateway, HLS)
  • Create and baseline an EHP Logistics Support Plan based on NASA Policies to outline EHP responsibilities and means to execute deliverables.
  • Establish a Logistics Working Group to collaborate with Project and Program Teams to identify minimum hardware quantities, maintenance list, spare, contingency items, and consumables.
  • Integrate Logistic needs of the EVA System to support operations as defined by Moon-2-Mars Program objectives for Artemis Mission Phases.
  • Identity and elevate discrepancies or short-falls with logistic support capabilities and elevate to EHP and Moon-2-Mars Management. Provide recommendations to assist in Risk Assessments.
  • Identify cross-project or cross-program efficiencies if hardware items are redundant or have dual-use capability to aid the Programs in mass and volume reduction goals.


What You Need to be Successful - Senior Project Engineer- Technical Project Management

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, math, science, or another related STEM discipline
  • At least 10 years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience in Logistic integration and leadership
  • Knowledge and understanding with NASA EVA systems and operations
  • Experience with leadership of dynamic and multidisciplinary teammates
  • Ability to effectively utilize oral and written communication skills to express technical concepts and recommendations to personnel at all technical and managerial levels
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customer
  • Knowledge and experience supporting Flight Operations and Hardware Lifecycles
  • Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site/ domestically approx. 5%
  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
