This position requires working remote overnight shifts, from 10PM to 8AM. Must go to office once per week.
Our Exciting Opportunity:
We are now looking for an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Engineer. You will plan and operate the software and hardware solutions for the internal Ericsson users. As an ICT Engineer, you will ensure a stable environment and optimize the solutions/services to the agreed service levels in a cost efficient and timely manner.
Additional services required by the customer are handled on a case by case basis.
What you will do:
System Monitoring:
?Continuously monitor MVS systems, Network and Server infrastructure.
?Use system monitoring tools to track system performance, alerts, and job statuses.
?Identify potential issues and take appropriate actions, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions.
User Account
Troubleshoot access issues, verification of identity, reset accounts, unlocks
Job Monitoring and Release:
?Oversee batch job scheduling and execution within the MVS environment.
?Monitor the queue for job failures, delays, or bottlenecks and take corrective actions.
?Release and manage jobs as per operational procedures, ensuring timely and accurate job execution.
Incident Management and Ticketing:
?Open and manage support tickets when system issues or alerts are detected.
?Accurately document incident details, troubleshooting steps, and resolution actions in the ticketing system.
?Escalate unresolved or critical system issues, and route tickets to appropriate queues.
Backup Tape Management:
?Manage the handling and rotation of backup tapes, ensuring secure storage and proper labeling.
?Handle the export of backup tapes from the tape library for offsite storage.
?Manage the import of backup tapes from offsite storage locations for restoration or reuse.
?Coordinate the secure transfer of tapes to and from offsite storage facilities.
?Track tapes sent offsite and received from offsite locations, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
?Monitor backup operations.
?Perform periodic checks on backups
You will bring
Education: B.E / B-Tech (E&C) preferred
Experience: 3+ years IT/Operations.
Good Technical Knowledge on IT technologies and backup recovery, performance tuning.
Understanding of all Processes, routines activities and Performance management & Characteristics of application load
Backup Architecture and its sub processes a plus
Excellent written and communication skills and good understanding about KPIs / SLA concepts.
