A Day in the Life
We are seeking a Principal Financial Analyst to join our Global Operations & Supply Chain ("GOSC") Strategy finance team. This role will partner with GOSC Finance and the GOSC Strategy Governance & Execution organization to develop and coordinate standard reporting, forecasting and analysis activities related to our strategic planning process. This role is critical to deliver on financial commitments, and continuously drive improvements, standardization, and efficiencies.

Team is working hybrid and position will be onsite in Fridley MN 3 days/week.

Key activities include:
  • Partner cross-functionally to support GOSC processes for the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), quarterly forecasts, and development of long-term strategic plan.
  • Assist in the coordination and consolidation of GOSC programs and strategic initiatives, including AOP, Strategic Plan and monthly KPI results.
  • Prepare, deliver, and present monthly financial results for Strategy & Network Operations on a timely basis.
  • Lead monthly process for Strategy & Network Operations Investment Reviews.
  • Leverage strong problem-solving to tackle challenges related to financial reporting, forecasting and analysis. Seek innovative solutions that can streamline processes.
  • Maintain clear and organized documentation processes and improvements made. This can aid in knowledge sharing and future references.
  • Utilize knowledge of financial data and data management to develop tools and reporting that more effectively presents financial metrics.
  • Develop ad hoc reports to support analyses. Work on special requests, projects, and financial presentations for management as required.


Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 5+ years)
  • Is a collaborator with excellent communication/ presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills including the ability to identify key trends and drivers and the proven experience translating financial data into meaningful, concise information.
  • Has strong ability to partner with senior leadership and others, facilitates decision-making activities, builds relationship networks at all levels, and leads change.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills for creating actionable insights and analysis.


Nice to Have
  • Experience with Medtronic financial systems: SAP, Global Planning System (GPS), Essbase/Hyperion & Business Objects.
  • Global Experience, working in large, complex, matrix organizations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$103,200.00 - $154,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
