  • At GS-12: Designs, develops, and presents analytical models and methods for implementation, performs qualitative and quantitative analysis, and conducts research to support and further SSA's program integrity initiatives.

Qualifications

This position has an Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR), to meet this requirement you must have :

A. Degree that included 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours were in mathematics and 6 semester hours were in statistics.

OR

B. Combination of education and experience -- at least 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

To qualify at the GS-11 level, you must have one of the following:
  • At least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-9, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled which has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience experience must include reviewing and summarizing datasets using standard statistical or machine learning analytical techniques and processes. Experience must also include assisting with transforming data into a form suitable for analysis using R, Python, SAS, or SQL; OR drafting research reports or technical papers.; OR
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, if related. NOTE: Transcripts are required to substantiate education.; OR
  • Completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, if related. NOTE: Transcripts are required to substantiate education.; OR
  • When combined, graduate education and experience total 100% of the requirements.

Experience must also include transforming unprocessed, incomplete, or unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis using R, Python, SAS, or SQL; OR preparing research reports, technical papers, guidelines, or instructions for technical and non-technical audiences.
