Job Title: Mechanical Technician I
What You ll Do:
As a Mechanical Technician I, you will provide support in the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. You will work under the supervision of senior technicians or engineers to ensure the proper functioning and performance of mechanical components.
Functions:
Assist in the assembly, installation, and testing of mechanical systems, equipment, and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and instructions.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of mechanical equipment to ensure proper operation and prevent breakdowns.
Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to resolve problems and restore functionality.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and effectively to perform mechanical tasks, such as drilling, cutting, grinding, and welding.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history, documenting findings, actions taken, and parts used.
Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations while performing mechanical tasks, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
Assist in the procurement and inventory management of mechanical parts, tools, and supplies as needed.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, maintenance, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of mechanical principles, systems, and components.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and technical documentation.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing mechanical tasks and inspections.
Preferred Skills:
Vocational training or certification in mechanical technology, machining, or a related field.
Experience with welding, soldering, or fabrication techniques.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and procedures.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and practices.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.
