We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Master Data Analyst to join our high-growth distribution company. This role will work collaboratively with Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Sales, Business Development, and Marketing teams to manage and enhance the integrity and completeness of item master data, supplier data, and customer data. The Master Data Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring data accuracy for both operations and business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce, helping to evolve business processes, implement controls, and generate meaningful insights through analytics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Item Master Data Management:
    • Execute and manage item master data across all operational and B2B e-commerce platforms.
    • Ensure that product data, pricing, and inventory information are accurate, complete, and up-to-date within the company s systems.
  2. Data Integrity & Governance:
    • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Sales teams to maintain the integrity and accuracy of supplier and customer data.
    • Establish and refine data governance processes and controls to ensure high-quality master data and continuous data improvement.
    • Identify and resolve data discrepancies, ensuring that data is complete, consistent, and accurate across all systems.
  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with Sales, Business Development, and Marketing teams to ensure that the data supports business needs and strategies.
    • Assist with data management initiatives and special projects, partnering with different teams to implement new data strategies and optimize data flows.
  4. Data Reporting & Analytics:
    • Leverage strong analytical skills to develop reports and metrics that provide insights into the state of master data across the organization.
    • Generate reports to monitor data accuracy, data quality KPIs, and key metrics for management review.
  5. Business Process Evolution:
    • Continuously evolve business processes and controls related to master data management, ensuring data is efficiently captured and managed to support business growth.
    • Participate in process improvement initiatives, helping to design workflows that enhance data completeness and accuracy for both operations and e-commerce platforms.
  6. MDM (Master Data Management) Strategy:
    • Assist in the development and execution of the Master Data Management (MDM) strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
    • Work with IT and business teams to support the implementation and maintenance of MDM tools and technologies that streamline data management efforts.
  7. Compliance & Risk Mitigation:
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies, standards, and external regulations related to data management.
    • Monitor risks related to data quality and implement strategies to mitigate potential impacts on operations and customer experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Data Management, Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in master data management, data governance, or analytics, preferably within a distribution, manufacturing, or e-commerce environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data management tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar). Advanced Excel skills required; experience with data analytics software is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience working with large datasets to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Detail-Oriented: High level of attention to detail with the ability to detect and resolve data discrepancies and inconsistencies.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting data-driven insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, procurement, sales, and marketing, to support business goals.
