Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Director with 12 to 15 years of proven success in generating opportunities, closing sales, and building long-term strategic client relationships in the U.S. engineering services sector. This is a senior sales leadership position ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Opportunity Pipeline Management:
- Generate and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities within design and engineering services.
- Independently run targeted sales campaigns and diligently follow up with potential clients.
Client Relationship Development:
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients in industries such as Manufacturing (Auto, Industrial, Medical Devices).
- Establish trust and deliver value by understanding and documenting client requirements.
Sales Cycle Leadership:
- Manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact to deal closure, ensuring all client interactions are strategically aligned.
- Collaborate with internal practice teams to develop compelling proposals that meet client needs.
Industry Networking:
- Attend industry conferences and networking events to enhance visibility and generate leads.
- Leverage industry insights to inform sales strategies and client discussions.
Value Proposition Articulation:
- Clearly articulate the value proposition of engineering services, focusing on CAD/CAM, engineering simulation, value engineering, and offshore engineering capabilities.
- Utilize financial engineering skills to structure winning propositions and conduct thorough financial analyses.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 12 to 15 years of business development experience in design and engineering services, with a proven track record in generating and closing sales.
- Exposure to new product development processes and familiarity with engineering principles such as design for manufacturing and design for quality.
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficient in engineering tools and software including Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Catia, HyperMesh, and Ansys.
- Experience in selling value engineering, engineering tools, and industrial engineering services.
Skills:
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills with a focus on creating lifetime client value.
- High energy, drive, and enthusiasm with a demonstrated ability to lead teams to success.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
