Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for maintaining existing corporate IT resources on various platforms.
- Lead the team and mentor/coach them to perform to the best of their abilities.
- Provide technical leadership in implementing best practices and driving standards with the team.
- Engage in detailed planning, change control and thorough testing to ensure performance, availability, and stability.
- Implement changes utilizing a defined change management process.
- Experience working with enterprise platforms such as Red Hat, CentOS, Rocky, Oracle Enterprise Linux operating systems.
- Setup and configure enterprise class server hardware from box to rack.
- Design and coordinate the installation of systems in a business-critical environment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot high availability systems in multiple Data Center locations.
- Develop and write systems and applications documentation.
- Support hardware decisions for upgrade requirements based on emerging software requirements in the best interest of the business.
- Determine system problems and coordinate hardware and/or software solutions.
- Implement security procedures and tools to ensure security measures are in place
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two years of experience as a level 2 or above position in an enterprise environment to mentor and lead junior Linux Admins.
- Performed in a senior or lead technical role.
- Passionate about learning new technology.
- Ability and willingness to work after-hours on occasion (nights, evenings, weekends, on-call rotation, etc.)
- Minimum of 8+ years' experience Linux administration experience supporting enterprise environments including.
- Solid understanding of the Linux OS (RHEL 7+/CentOS 7+/Ubuntu 18.04+/OEL 8+/Rocky 8+) and its components (kernel, system, libraries, job scheduling, and package management).
- Intermediate BASH or Python scripting skills, including understanding, modifying, and creating scripts.
- Solid understanding of fundamental network protocols such as routing, TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP, SSL/TLS, and HTTP.
- Solid understanding of LVM, filesystem types, and partitioning. o Extensive understanding of Intel Servers (HP, Lenovo/IBM, SuperMicro, or Dell) including remote access, troubleshooting, booting, firmware, and configuration.
- Extensive experience with OS patching and patching tools (RPM, YUM, repos).
- Hands-on experience with management tools such as SaltStack, Ansible, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with managing 1000+ servers.
- One or more advanced certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, AWS Cloud Practitioner) combination of experience and education.
- Understanding of security best practices such as CIS, SELinux, Firewalls, PAM, etc.
- Experience with PXE booting Linux-based OS installs (ex. kickstart, Cobbler, FAI, etc.)
- Multi-generation Dell hardware experience (12th-15th).
- Understanding of version controls systems (Git, GitLab, etc.)
- Professional experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, PCF/Tanzu, etc.
- Experience with VMware vCenter and general understanding of virtualization.
- Professional experience with public clouds (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure)
- Experience with modern tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Experience participating in IT compliance audits (PCI, SOX, FedRAMP, etc.)
- Hands on experience with SAN storage (Fibre Channel, Multipath, PowerPath, etc.)
- Familiarity with MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL
