Direct Hire Starting Salary: $120k - $150k range depending on years of experience (Full Time, Direct Hire Opportunity)

Our client s Mining team delivers world class electric drive propulsion systems for heavy haul mining trucks with payloads up to 400T. These systems are introducing new technology to help mines meet their sustainability goals.

In this role, the Sr Engineer - Control Systems will develop, implement, & validate controls for electric drive mining vehicles. You ll have the opportunity to interact directly with customers and cross functional teams during product definition and project execution.

In this role, the Sr Engineer - Control Systems will develop, implement, & validate controls for electric drive mining vehicles. You ll have the opportunity to interact directly with customers and cross functional teams during product definition and project execution.
Reaquirement:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other Engineering discipline.
- Electrical Engineering experience with motor, alternator, and power electronics control
- Hands-on design experience in motors controls design using PID Controllers, Algorithms, Hardware in Loop, and Algorithms.
- 8 or more years control development experience
- Experience using model-based designing tools such as MatLab/Simulink and/or MATRIXx.
- Hands on working experience designing classic motors controls, working with PID Controllers, Algorithms, HIL/Hardware in Loop, and Classic Filters and developing filters or simulation from scratch
What will your typical day look like?
- Developing control systems for new products and new features for our existing fleet. Control development will span the entire lifecycle from customer definition, concept selection, modeling, simulation, and implementation to verification and validation testing.
- Documenting system requirements and flowing requirements to subsystem, & component development teams.
- Evaluating detailed designs for technical merit & adherence to sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Coordinating sub-system validation and reports for testing performed internally, at 3rd party sites, or on customer site.
- Monitoring and communicating project status, business issues and significant developments
- Periodic travel for durations of 2 to 3 weeks to conduct testing or investigate issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other Engineering discipline.
- Strong preference for Electrical Engineering with motor, alternator, and power electronics control experience.
- 8 or more years control development experience
- Experience using model-based designing tools such as MatLab/Simulink and/or MATRIXx.

- Climb multistory access stairs and/or ladders on large mining trucks to perform validation testing.
- Work with hand-coded control models and interpret models and simulations.
