Location: Salem, Oregon - Hybrid

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Note: Need someone for 50 Miles location only.

Job Overview:

Client is seeking a Project/Program Manager III to manage small-scope projects with limited risk, complexity, and short durations. This individual will typically work under the direction of a state supervisor or manager, managing smaller projects or supporting larger ones. The candidate should be experienced in applying project management principles from the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), ensuring adherence to project standards and overseeing project teams to achieve clear, achievable outcomes.

The individual will also provide project support services including managing budgets, schedules, timelines, scope, and change control. Additionally, the Project Manager III will coordinate all project resources, manage project communications, and ensure compliance with Information Systems Division (ISD) standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Apply project management principles and techniques (PMBOK) to manage small-scope projects or assist in supporting larger, more complex projects.
  • Budget and Schedule Management: Oversee project budgets, schedules, and timelines while ensuring all deliverables are met on time.
  • Scope and Change Control: Full responsibility for scope management, configuration management, and change control, including managing issues logs, testing, verification, and validation of new systems.
  • Team Coordination: Oversee project resources, including IS technical staff, customers, and contract personnel. Coordinate and manage resource allocation to ensure all project tasks are accomplished.
  • Project Communication: Facilitate project communications through regular "stand-up" meetings and status updates, ensuring stakeholders are informed on project progress.
  • Documentation and Standards: Ensure adherence to ISD's project management, development, testing, and documentation standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implementation Coordination: Collaborate with the assigned Local System Administrator (LSA) and ensure the smooth implementation of applications.
  • Outsourced Task Monitoring: Control and monitor all outsourced tasks, ensuring successful integration and alignment with project goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing small-scope projects or providing project support on larger projects.
  • Strong familiarity with PMBOK project management principles and techniques.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and timelines.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee project scope, configuration, change control, and testing processes.
  • Strong communication and team coordination abilities, with experience in leading project meetings and providing progress updates.
  • Familiarity with configuration management processes and standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working within government agencies or public sector projects.
  • Experience coordinating with technical staff, customers, and external contractors.
  • Ability to manage project teams and resources effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and risk management capabilities.

Work Environment:

This position offers a hybrid work environment, with both remote and on-site responsibilities at the client office. Flexibility to work in-person and attend meetings at the client headquarters when required.
