Power BI Developer

The role of a Power BI developer is to convert raw data into meaningful analysis by using Microsoft Power BI to design, build, and deploy reports and dashboards. They work with technical teams to improve data analytics and business intelligence techniques.

Exercises moderate level of independent decision-making.

Performs tasks and duties with minimal guidance.

Follows established procedures.

The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Build automated reports and dashboards with the help of Power BI and other reporting tools
• Understand business requirements in the BI context and design data models to convert raw data to meaningful insights
• Create dashboards and visual interactive reports using Power BI
• Identify KPIs with clear objectives and monitor them consistently
• Analyze data and present it through reports that can help in decision-making
• Convert business requirements into technical specifications and decide the timeline to accomplish tasks
• Design, develop, and deploy Power BI scripts and perform efficient detailed analysis
• Perform complex DAX queries and functions in Power BI
• Create charts and document data with algorithms, parameters, models, and relations explanations
• Make technical changes to existing BI systems in order to enhance their functioning
• Have knowledge of database fundamentals such as multidimensional database design, relational database design, and more
• Apply detailed knowledge of clinical data and terms used in clinical trials, the clinical trials process, client s SOPs, and Google Cloud Platform (Good Clinical Practice) regulations, to ensure compliance.
• Adhere to SOPs for computer system validation and all Google Cloud Platform (Good Clinical Practice) regulations. Respond promptly to requests from Validation/Test team for documentation or bug fixes.
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex DAX formulas.
• Able to manage development, testing, and production environments using deployment pipelines.
• Proficiency in creating detailed paginated reports.
• Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.

Prior Experience

5 years prior experience inclusive of Power BI required.

Experience in researching, recommending and integrating third-party tools and the ability to develop visualization using the same.

Prior experience in a CRO/pharmaceutical environment preferred.

Skills and Competencies

Detailed knowledge of the source code, database designs, integrations, and architecture of reporting and ETL systems

Documenting, designing, and modeling solutions and explaining, representing, and discussing the same with the team.

Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices.

Strong working knowledge of programming techniques and system development life cycle processes.
