Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to serve as a servant leader and coach for a cross-functional agile team operating within complex domains, including Security, Data, and Networking. This role focuses on guiding and facilitating a Scrum and/or Kanban team through effective application of agile methodologies within a fast-paced, technology-driven program. The successful candidate will ensure agile practices are followed, remove impediments, and foster a high-performing, continuously improving team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Agile Leadership & Coaching: Guide, coach, and motivate the team to increase productivity and improve performance, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
  • Facilitation: Organize and lead Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, iteration reviews, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
  • Scope & Quality Management: Oversee and manage scope, timeline, quality, goals, and deliverables to support business objectives.
  • Impediment Removal: Identify and remove obstacles that interfere with the team's ability to deliver on commitments.
  • Conflict Resolution: Build a trusting environment where issues can be raised without fear, emphasizing conflict resolution and problem-solving.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate activities across teams and with other Scrum Masters to ensure alignment across the program.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present progress reports, metrics, and success stories.
  • Support Product Owner: Partner with and support the Product Owner to ensure clear understanding of product vision, backlog, and priorities.
  • Maturity Coaching: Mentor the team to higher levels of agile maturity at a sustainable and comfortable pace.
  • Agile SDLC Compliance: Ensure adherence to agile SDLC (Software Delivery Life Cycle) tenants, standards, and best practices, utilizing appropriate tools.
  • Empowerment & Collaboration: Promote core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility; empower the team to self-organize.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven Scrum Master experience within a complex, large-scale enterprise environment. Prior roles in agile environments (e.g., QA, Development, Product Owner, Agile Coach) are highly valued.
  • Agile Methodologies: Strong understanding and hands-on experience with agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
  • Leadership & Team Building: Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and build high-performing teams. Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across diverse teams and organizational levels.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Technical Understanding: Ability to grasp high-level technical concepts and effectively communicate agile methodologies.
  • Multi-Project Management: Experience managing multiple agile teams and balancing between PMO, business, and technology teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Certification: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Tools: Familiarity with agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and other collaboration software.
  • Experience: Experience in the Security, Data, or Networking domains, especially in cloud transformation initiatives.
