Skills:
Mechanical engineering professional with engineering experience supported by strong academic record with professional experience in Piping design & Packaging Projects.
Sound knowledge on Piping design for Process industry / FMCG / Pharma/Chemical.
Mechanical engineering professional, accompanied with better communication and analytical skill, engineering knowledge supported by strong academic record with professional experience in Piping and Packaging design.
Prepares and oversees work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly. Reviews and approves key engineering drawings and calculations and bid summaries. Facilitates technical discussions with onsite, Offshore design team, Client, supplier and coordinates with client representatives to obtain approval of drawings/documents for different phases of project.
Applies broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices to project engineering. Makes decisions independently concerning problems within the discipline on the project. Represents the discipline on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions and as required to coordinate work.
Coordinates assigned engineering work with other project groups/disciplines. Provides technical guidance and interfaces with the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers, designers and drafters, in addition to mentoring them through provision of appropriate on-the-job training. Maintains contacts, as directed, with client representatives, suppliers, appropriate field personnel and other disciplines.
Knowledge on Piping standards ASME B-31.3, BPE etc ,
Knowledge on PFD, TFS, Layout and Elevation.
Knowledge on Vendor Coordination, RFQ preparation and floating, Equipment selection and vendor analysis, Site Clearance & Installation of Piping equipment, evaluation of Utility requirement, ESM
Expert in Layout Optimization, Decision making on layout design and equipment selection,
Knowledge in Auto desk 2D/ 3D tools (Auto plant 3D), PDS optional
Mechanical Engineer with packing background from FMCG and Pharma Product packaging especially Liquid and powder. Align with client requirements and company objectives and ensuring statutory & OH&S regulatory requirements are met. Able to work on Packaging Layouts, ensuring process engineering design and criteria are translated and implemented as practical engineering solution.
Ensuring the technical competencies and reputation of the mechanical/packaging engineers are enhanced and developed to consistently meet the technical requirements of projects and studies. Preparing mechanical specifications for processing/ packaging equipment such as conveyors, converter, Case packer, Conveyors, crushers, agitators, cyclones, air compressors and blowers etc. Evaluating and making recommendations for the purchase of various mechanical equipment items. Co-ordinate with Vendor to meet the technical requirement. Prepare and Carry out VAT and FAT.
Understanding of or experience using AutoCAD, Revit and other 3D design tools & review software like NavisWorks etc.
Good working knowledge in application of 2-D for developing conceptual designs and production design deliverables of complex plants. Guiding modelers /drafters and team for best piping layout design as per industry norms.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
Capable in Technical Discussion with client & project execution, review of construction drawings, Technical Specification, Technical Recommendation, Quality Assurance Plan & Mechanical deliverables.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) required.
Ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.
Knowledge Project Planning & Management, budgeting, Scheduling & Risk Management.
Responsibilities:
Should be able to execute mechanical projects of Filling Machine, Specialty in End-of-Line (EOL) packaging systems., Shrink bundling, Case packing and palletization, Packing project Schedule creation for Machine installation., Installation Support.
Should have experience in Packaging Technology, Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to manage client interaction and peer review on design issues during all project development phases.
Carry out Vendor co-ordination
Developing overall Conceptual and Basis of Design level design approaches and documentation. Providing feasible & cost effective solutions per client needs.
Developing piping plant systems philosophies.
Developing Mechanical / Packaging equipment and construction specifications.
Responsible for delivery of project on time with zero defects.
Performing construction assistance in submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits to verify construction of Mechanical / Packaging scope is executed per the intent of the design, and assisting in start-up of systems when required.
Managing and developing mechanical / utilities scope for project budgets and schedules. Traveling as required for client development and project execution.
Coordination with Contractors and overseeing all construction activities, providing technical guidance.
