Location: Piscataway, NJ

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced AWS EMR Developer to join our team in the healthcare informatics sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and resolving security vulnerabilities within our AWS EMR environment to ensure the protection of sensitive healthcare data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough security assessments of the AWS EMR environment to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement security patches and other remediation measures to address identified vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare informatics team to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
  • Monitor the AWS EMR environment for new security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Perform regular security audits and generate reports for management review.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate security practices into the development lifecycle.
  • Provide expert guidance on AWS best practices, particularly regarding security and EMR configurations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, mitigation techniques, and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with AWS services, with a strong focus on EMR.
  • Experience in healthcare informatics and understanding of HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong background in cybersecurity, with a track record of resolving vulnerabilities.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Familiarity with AWS security services and tools (e.g., AWS Identity and Access Management, AWS Key Management Service, AWS Shield).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified Security - Specialty or AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty certification.
  • Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
  • Prior work with secure data processing and storage in a healthcare environment.
