Under limited supervision, performs technical and administrative work in supporting and maintaining the Point of Sales (POS) systems and related devices for Superior stores. Work involves maintenance and support of all computers (servers, desktops, cash registers and laptops), databases, networked and standalone printers, label printers, scanning equipment and all other IT equipment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Repair, install, support and/or PM all store POS and IT equipment including PC s, printers, UPS s, Data Racks, LAN Hardware, WAN Hardware and other peripherals. Wireless Heat Map.
  • Provide after-hours remote on-call and onsite support as needed.
  • Utilize the Superior Grocer s asset Management system to record and track equipment serial numbers as needed.
  • Keep equipment storage area clean and organized. Provide Department Manager with equipment inventories.
  • Manage service ticket requests per IT service level policy.
  • Install POS and Computer equipment in all new store locations.
  • Install, repair, support and rebuild POS Controllers and POS lanes as directed.
  • Work with our POS Vendor to resolve all End-of-Day store closing issues as well as any other POS application (ISS45) issues.
  • Implement new POS application modifications with the help of our software provider.
  • Open and close service tickets with our POS application and hardware support vendors.
  • Create and replace as needed Manager Override Barcodes for all managers.
  • Coordinate with vendors as needed to facilitate the installation/removal/relocation of all store POS equipment.
  • Interact with other departments and management as needed to resolve issues and provide support to the stores and facilities.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 2-3 yrs. POS Installation or support experience
  • 2-3 yrs. experience in maintaining and setting up small local networks
  • 2-3 yrs. Retail Experience

Knowledge / Requirements:

  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Ability to assembly and replace computer components.
  • Windows XP, Windows 7, Word, Excel, Outlook,
  • Basic Computer Networking (Patch Panels, Switches Wireless Handheld Terminals)
  • Availability to work day and night shifts.

Skills and Ability:

  • A+ Certification
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • Reliable transportation with insurance
