Position Overview:

Oracle Cloud Financials Functional Testing Engineer is responsible for testing and validating Oracle Cloud Financials modules to ensure the proper functionality, performance, and accuracy of financial processes. This role blends a strong understanding of Oracle Financials modules with

deep knowledge of manual and automation testing practices. This position is essential for ensuring that financial processes in Oracle Cloud are reliable, accurate, and aligned with business requirements through thorough manual and automated testing approaches.

Job Description:

As an Oracle Cloud Financials Functional Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for testing financial processes and systems within Oracle Cloud applications. This role requires a combination of financial functional knowledge and technical testing expertise. You will design, execute, and manage testing strategies, both manual and automated, to ensure that Oracle Cloud Financials modules (such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Cash Management) are functioning according to the business requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Test Planning & Strategy:
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies for Oracle Cloud Financials modules (GL, AP, AR, FA, CM)
  • Collaborate with functional and technical teams to understand business requirements and convert them into detailed test cases.
  • Identify critical functional areas, integration points, and data flows that require rigorous testing.
  1. Manual Testing:
  • Execute manual testing procedures to validate functional accuracy of various Oracle Cloud Financials modules.
  • Perform detailed end-to-end testing, including system, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Support and be part of the Conference Room Pilot Testing sessions ( CRP).
  • Verify compliance with accounting principles, business workflows, and Oracle Cloud best practices.
  • Document and track defects/issues using defect tracking tools, following up with teams to ensure timely resolution.
  1. Automation Testing:
  • Design and implement test automation frameworks for Oracle Cloud Financials using automation tools like OPKEY, Selenium, OATS (Oracle Application Testing Suite), or other relevant frameworks.
  • Write, execute, and maintain automated test scripts to perform regression, performance, and data validation testing.
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and deployment processes.
  1. Functional Knowledge & Collaboration:
  • Leverage your deep functional understanding of Oracle Financials modules (GL, AP, AR, FA, CM) to validate financial workflows, business rules, and reporting functionalities.
  • Collaborate with financial analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure the test coverage aligns with business requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phases.
  1. Defect Management & Reporting:
  • Track and report on testing progress, including test coverage, defect rates, and overall system quality.
  • Collaborate with development teams to prioritize and address defects found during testing cycles.
  • Provide detailed reports and metrics on test results, including risks and areas of concern.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of manual and automated testing processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest Oracle Cloud Financials features and updates, ensuring that testing processes are continuously aligned with Oracle s roadmap.
  • Participate in post-implementation reviews to assess testing effectiveness and suggest improvements for future implementations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Functional Expertise:
  • Experience working with Oracle Cloud Financials R13 or higher.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Oracle Cloud Financials modules such as General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), and Cash Management (CM).
  • Understanding of financial processes, workflows, and accounting principles.
  1. Manual Testing and Automation Expertise:
  • Hands-on experience with manual and automation testing of Oracle Financials applications.
  • Proficiency in automation testing using tools like Selenium, OATS, or similar.
  • Experience with writing, executing, and maintaining test scripts and test cases.
  • Knowledge of test management tools (e.g., Jira, ALM, or similar) and defect tracking processes.
  • Experience in building and maintaining test automation frameworks, like OPKEY, Selenium , etc.
  • Familiarity with automation testing integration in CI/CD pipelines.
  1. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and identify critical issues within financial systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot functional and technical problems and provide appropriate solutions.
  1. Education, Experience and Other skills:
  • Bachelor s degree in finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in Oracle Financials testing, both manual and automated.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, developers, and financial analysts.
  • Strong documentation skills for test results, defect tracking, and test case management.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience in testing financial reporting and analytics.
  • Understanding of Oracle Cloud infrastructure, security, and integration points.
  • Certifications such as Oracle Cloud ERP Financials or ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board)
