Texas A&M University's Technology Services is actively seeking a Backend Software Application Developer II to support our Admission onsite in College Station, Texas!

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with PL/SQL and/or Oracle databases, ensuring the seamless integration and management of data critical to the admissions process. While not required , experience with student information system, Banner, is advantageous . This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining backend services that handle large volumes of data, optimizing database performance, and ensuring data security and integrity.

Here's a glimpse of what you'll do:

  • Reviews, designs, codes, debugs, and tests complex computer programs, websites, program modifications and web applications


  • Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems


  • Develops applications for student information system (Banner) and web portal ( Howdy )


  • Actively participates in quality assurance


  • Coordinate the technical activities of a small project team


  • Develop reports and summaries for management and/or user


  • Participate in professional development opportunities


Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 annually.

Location: Onsite position in College Station, Texas.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience AND three years of software applications developer experience.


A well-qualified candidate would possess one or more of the following:

  • Three years of software applications developer experience writing Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures.


  • Three years of experience in database development and programming utilizing relational databases to produce dynamic web-based applications, batch programs, and reports.


  • Experience with peer review and peer programming through tools driven by SVN revision control.


  • Experience working with the Banner student information system and the uPortal portal framework


  • Experience with Unix, PL/SQL Developer, JIRA, Confluence, Team Dynamix,
