Position: Performance and Power Analysis Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, Bay Area, CA

Type: Full-Time

  • As a Performance and Power Analysis Engineer, you will be at the forefront of optimizing the efficiency and performance of cutting-edge augmented reality.
  • Your primary focus will be on identifying and analyzing performance bottlenecks, conducting power characterization, and extracting system usage behaviors from complex workloads.
  • You will design and implement micro-benchmarks to stress-test and evaluate system components.
  • Additionally, you will lead efforts in measuring and analyzing silicon performance, power, and thermal characteristics.
  • By collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the development of high performance, energy-efficient embedded systems, ensuring they meet stringent power and thermal constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze performance bottlenecks and conduct power characterization for various systems.
  • Extract system-usage behavior from workloads and design micro-benchmarks for targeted analysis.
  • Lead efforts in silicon performance, power, and thermal measurement and analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of SoC architecture, including NoCs, memory subsystems, and heterogeneous compute principles.
  • Knowledge of power concepts, trade-offs, and low power design principles.
  • Hands-on experience with performance profilers and power measurement tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ or Python, Assembly (e.g., ARM, RISC-V, x86), and scripting.
  • BSEE, MSEE, CS degree, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in optimizing power and performance under thermal constraints on embedded devices.
  • Deep knowledge of power management principles, including DVFS and thermal management.
  • Experience with bare-metal programming and micro-benchmarking.
  • Familiarity with tools for gathering and interpreting performance counters, such as perf, VTune, and DS5-Streamline.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly within a team environment. Personal characteristics:
