Technical Requirements:

DataDog Administration on Linux Platform:

  • Experience managing, configuring, and maintaining DataDog for infrastructure and application monitoring (Linux, Windows, and AIX).
  • Proficient in Java application instrumentation using DataDog on Tomcat Application Server.
  • Setup and fine-tune monitoring, health rules, and create dashboards in DataDog.

Infrastructure & Network Monitoring:

  • Configuration and administration of infrastructure, server, and network monitoring (e.g., SNMP, F5 Load Balancers).
  • Experience with centralized logging for WebSphere, Tomcat, and IHS WebServers.
  • Knowledge of load balancers (e.g., F5), switches, routers, Palo Alto Network utilization, and network mapping tools (e.g., WebSeal, Gigamon).

ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana):

  • Hands-on experience with ELK Stack for search, data analytics, and visualization.
  • Setup log management and ingest pipelines using Logstash and build dashboards with Kibana.

Linux Administration & SSL Setup:

  • Strong Linux (Red Hat) background.
  • Experience with SSL setup, CA certificate installation, and encryption methods on Linux servers.

Scripting & Automation:

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Shell, Ansible).
  • Automation of infrastructure tasks using scripts and playbooks.

Additional Monitoring Tools:

  • Experience with monitoring tools like Big Panda, CloudBeat (Synthetic Monitoring).
  • Set up End User Monitoring, Real User Monitoring with DataDog for Java applications using JavaScript injection.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Tool Management:

  • Install, manage, and maintain DataDog tools on the Linux platform, including configuring alerts, dashboards, and ad-hoc reports.
  • Administer the DataDog APM tool and integrate with other business tools.

Application & Infrastructure Monitoring:

  • Configure centralized logging and network monitoring for servers and applications.
  • Collaborate with systems and application architecture teams to ensure proper monitoring for new applications before production release.

Synthetic Monitoring:

  • Create Selenium scripts for business transaction monitoring using CloudBeat Synthetic Monitoring.

Troubleshooting & Support:

  • Provide support for production issues, including gathering data from multiple platforms, analyzing performance issues, and offering solutions.
  • Document processes, procedures, and best practices for tool usage, integration, and maintenance.

Collaboration:

  • Work with different teams to coordinate monitoring tools early in the development process.
  • Support ongoing training for teams on the tools and their processes.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong IT background in distributed environments (Microsoft, Linux/Unix, VMWare, SQL Server, TCP/IP, VPNs, LAN/WAN, Mainframe).
  • Strong understanding of service level management (SLAs, SLRs).

Required Experience:

  • Experience with scripting (Python, Shell, and Selenium).
  • Experience in SSL setup, encryption methods, and Java application troubleshooting.
  • Experience in creating documentation, processes, and procedures for tool usage and integration.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies (SAFe) and SDLC (waterfall & agile).

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
