The Role You’ll Contribute

The Process Improvement Specialist is a qualified individual who, under the general direction of the Director, will provide project management and clinical analytic support to high priority cost and effectiveness initiatives throughout the system. The Process Improvement Specialist is tasked with identifying inefficiencies in healthcare delivery services and solutions to re-engineer systems to improve the access, quality and cost of care for beneficiaries and the organization. This role will primarily focus on process analysis, time and cost studies, process simulation, process and productivity improvement in the clinical setting.

  • Provides a weekly summary of project progress and learnings to the director for the communication cascade to local executives and front-line staff
  • Demonstrates commitment to patient safety and protecting patients and providers by advocating safe practices and policies
  • Holds paramount the safety, health, and welfare of the public in the performance of professional duties and escalates patient safety concerns to appropriate leadership, up to and including executives, with honesty and integrity
  • Acts as an in-house consultant for current and proposed needs for data and information to guide performance improvement by advising leadership and staff on methods of data collection and database design to maximize data integrity
  • Facilitates use of data to identify opportunities to improve clinical outcomes
  • Utilizes and maintains computer applications and databases. Writes queries, analyzes and reports in multiple programs, not limited to: Premier, NDNQI, Hospital Financial Reports, PowerBI, Cerner (Power Insight) and MS Access.

The Expertise And Experiences You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Minimum qualifications:
  • Associates Degree
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Engineering, Business or Healthcare-related field or equivalent work experience in related field.
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Minimum three years’ experience in data analytics/process improvement OR healthcare setting
  • Registered Nurse licensure
  • Change Management Certification
  • Team STEPPS Certification
  • LEAN Performance Improvement Certification
  • Six Sigma Performance Improvement Certification
