Company describtion

The mission of the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité (BIH) is medical translation: transferring biomedical research findings into novel approaches to personalized prediction, prevention, diagnostics and therapies and, conversely, using clinical observations to develop new research ideas. The aim is to deliver relevant medical benefits to patients and the population at large. Since 2021 the BIH has been integrated into Charité as its so-called third pillar.

For the the group of Prof. Dr. Birgit Sawitzki starting from January 1, 2025 until December 31, 2026 we are looking for a Post Doc (d/f/m) in full-time.

The Sawitzki lab at the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin investigates the molecular mechanisms of immune cell activation and regulation, to better understand why components of the immune system become a trigger of destructive inflammatory reactions, like in the context of autoimmune diseases or SARS-CoV-2 infections. We are using especially multi-parametric technologies (cytometry, imaging, scRNAseq) to uncover pathological changes in the composition and function of immune cells in patient cohorts, which could serve as therapeutic targets.

  • Bioinformatic analyses and data interpretation
  • Further development of experimental methods
