Purpose

The Senior Software Test Automation Engineer at CENTEGIX is responsible for driving the automation strategy and ensuring the high quality of our safety technology solutions. This role is essential in helping the company achieve its goal of delivering reliable, scalable, and efficient safety products by ensuring that our testing processes are both automated and aligned with the broader engineering and business objectives.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead Test Automation Initiatives:
    Spearhead the automation efforts across multiple platforms, ensuring the efficient delivery of automated testing solutions. Define and implement a roadmap for increasing automation coverage to improve overall product quality and release cycle times.
  • Design and Develop Automated Test Suites:
    Create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Cypress and other relevant tools for functional, regression, and performance testing. Ensure the tests are reliable and meet best practices for efficiency and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:
    Work closely with the development, product, and business teams to understand and meet testing requirements. Serve as a key liaison between engineering teams and other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient testing process.
  • Risk Mitigation and Problem-Solving:
    Identify potential risks early in the development process and proactively work to devise mitigation strategies. Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly to maintain seamless functionality and project timelines.
  • Develop and Maintain Testing Documentation:
    Own the organizational knowledge for testing by creating documentation, guides, and conducting workshops to ensure consistency and share best practices across the team.
  • Success Metrics:
    Develop and implement metrics to track automation test coverage, test execution time, and overall product quality improvements.

Mentorship and Development:
Mentor and guide junior automation engineers and quality engineers on testing best practices and automation strategies, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Requirements:
  • Experience:
    • 6+ years of experience in software quality engineering or test automation in the technology industry.
    • Proven track record of leading test automation efforts across multiple projects and platforms.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Selenium, Cypress) are a plus.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proficiency in automation frameworks and tools like Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent.
    • Hands-on experience with JavaScript, Python, or other programming languages used in test automation.
    • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how to integrate automated tests into them.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
    • Problem-solving abilities and a strategic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement.
    • Ability to mentor and develop others while managing complex tasks efficiently.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Comfortable working in an agile environment with flexible hours when necessary.
    • Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and self-direction.
