The Acoustics, Noise, and Vibration team is seeking an acoustics intern to participate in our 2025 summer internship program. This position will be in our New York City office. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, oversee high-profile projects, and contribute to the team's growth and development. This role requires deep expertise in acoustical consulting, exceptional leadership skills, and strong business acumen. This position will be out of our New York City office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field measurements and monitoring of noise and vibration levels using specialized equipment and analyze results.
  • Advise on or design structures to reduce noise, enhance sound quality, or control vibration, especially in buildings like theaters, studios, and offices.
  • Assist with acoustical analysis, noise and vibration assessments, and modeling for a wide range of projects, including architectural acoustics, MEP systems, environmental impact assessments, transportation, and construction
  • Help evaluate and mitigate impacts of noise and vibration from industrial or transportation sources, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Prepare reports on noise impact assessments, compliance with local and international noise regulations, and recommendations for improvements.
  • Work with architects, engineers, and developers to incorporate acoustics into the design of buildings or outdoor spaces.
  • Oversee the implementation of sound control measures in various projects.

Essential Requirements:

  • An accredited STEM bachelor s degree program or STEM graduate program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Initiative and ability to take on new projects and other challenges regularly
  • Dependability and an eagerness to take ownership of tasks

Compensation will range from $19hr-$24hr, and commensurate with experience.
