Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a Data Analyst for a contract position with a local municipality.

This is a temporary contract with a pay rate of $36/hour to $42/hour, depending upon qualifications, and a schedule of 37.5 hours per week. The contract is slated to last for 6 months, with the possibility of extension. Work is performed both remotely (3-4 days/week) and in-office in Durham, NC (1-2 days/week).

As a Data Analyst, you would be performing independent data compilation and analysis regarding various IT initiatives. This will require a strong balance of technical skills and people skills, as well as excellent initiative.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Compile and analyze data related to technical operations and initiatives.
  • Develop clear visualizations to convey complicated data in a straightforward fashion.
  • Lead, engage, and coordinate with multi-departmental teams to produce better business outcomes and communicate and validate requirements with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify automation opportunities, business opportunities, and analyze process issues and bottlenecks to make improvements.
  • Create reports, dashboards and visualizations to understand business performance.
  • Help administer various communication, productivity, and reporting tools.
  • Deliver clear, concise, and persuasive oral presentations (in person and/or remotely) and adapt content and delivery based on audience, subject matter expertise, and desired outcomes.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a directly related field.
  • Data Analyst Certification.
  • Proficiency with R Programming, Python, and SQL.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom, and cloud-based communication and productivity applications.
  • Knowledge and experience working with emerging technology and technology systems typically used in local government.
  • Experience engaging stakeholders, facilitating meetings, and seeking feedback.
  • Experience identifying, proposing, and facilitating improvements to business processes.
