The Residential Construction Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Manager in overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of residential construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of the construction process, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This role is critical to ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in all aspects of residential construction projects, from pre-construction through project closeout.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site teams to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project schedules.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with building codes, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, schedules, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets, cost estimates, and tracking project expenses.
  • Identify potential risks and issues, providing recommendations for resolution to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, report on any delays, and address issues promptly.
  • Facilitate communication between all project stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed of project updates and changes.
  • Support the procurement of materials and coordination of delivery schedules.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in residential construction or project management.
  • Knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with team members, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with various project management software is a plus
  • Experience in scheduling, budgeting, and cost control for residential construction projects.
  • Familiarity with permitting processes and local building regulations.
  • Construction safety certification (e.g., OSHA 30) is a plus.
