Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced investment professional to join our team. This position will initially report to a Partner on the Portfolio Management team. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge of investments, with expertise in equity portfolio management. The Director, Corient Investments candidate will lead a team of analysts/associates charged with transitioning client portfolios to Corient strategies. The candidate will also work closely with Wealth Advisors, the Investment Team, and Operations on this initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Develop of deep understanding of Corient’s equity strategies through frequent interactions with the central investment team
  • Optimize the transition process for each legacy office that invests in individual stocks utilizing legacy office technology
  • Play a key role in the centralized management of individual stock portfolios as adopt new technology
  • Supervise a team of Analysts/Associates who are working with their local advisors to transition portfolios to Corient strategies. This includes understand clients’ objectives, risk tolerance, and existing equity portfolios to map them to the appropriate strategy
  • Suggest trades to advisors that are consistent with moving to the mapped strategy, staying within capital gain budgets. Enter these orders into the local Order Management System for execution by the trading team
  • Review portfolios and build orders when strategy trades are suggested by the Investment Team
  • Contribute to optimal portfolio allocation across equities, fixed income, and alternatives, ensuring alignment with clients' overall investment objectives
  • Rebalance portfolios, manage for cash/liquidity needs, and harvest losses in taxable accounts
  • Various projects for the Portfolio Management team, as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required, preferably in Finance or Economics.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of portfolio management/order management software (Moxy, Tamarack, Orion Eclipse, or Eze) preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of portfolio construction and tax-efficient portfolio management strategies (i.e. asset location, tax-loss harvesting, etc.).
  • Ability to be organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated, while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

Pay Information

This position is exempt and is paid according to the laws of the State of NY. The pay range for this position is $127,200 - $201,000 per year. We are required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Corient seeks to make reasonable accommodations that enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties when possible.
  • This position may require the ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
