SUMMARY:

The Data Governance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the organization s data governance program. This includes establishing and enforcing policies for data management, quality, and security, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and facilitating the effective use of data to drive strategic decision-making.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive data governance policies and procedures.
  • Lead the data governance committee and act as a liaison between IT, legal, and business units.
  • Monitor compliance with data protection regulations and internal data governance policies.
  • Collaborate with IT to implement systems that improve data quality and protection.
  • Define data stewardship and ownership with clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Oversee data-related projects, ensuring alignment with governance frameworks.
  • Manage data audits and track remediation of data issues.
  • Provide training and guidance on data governance principles and practices.
  • Report on the status of data governance initiatives to senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in data governance, data management, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of data regulations and compliance (e.g., GDPR,).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience with data management tools and technologies.
