JOB SUMMARY


Location HTPN BUMC Downtown Dallas TX


Department Laboratory


Shift Day Monday - Friday 8:00am- 4:30pm


Preferred Experience Must have at least 2yrs of experience of inpatient and or outpatient experience Must have a Phlebotomy Tech Cert from one of these agencies: ASCP, NPA, ASPT, NCCT, NHA, AMT, NAHP, AMCA, AAH, Donor Phlebotomy Tech or ACA


The Phlebotomist 2 collects and processes quality specimens in a safe manner as outlined in BSWH policies and procedures. Aids in the delivery of exceptional patient care. Assists with training and auditing of behaviors and performance, as assigned.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

• Follows all established specimen collection, labeling, transportation, and handling procedures.


• Responsible for high customer satisfaction through professional and ethical conduct.


• Performs job responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner.


• Performs clerical duties.


• Demonstrates engagement with achieving department goals and continuous improvement.

• EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent


• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience


• CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Donor Phlebotomy Tech-ASCP (DPT), Phlebotomy Technician (PBT): Must have a Phlebotomy Tech Cert from one of these agencies:


• ASCP, NPA, ASPT, NCCT, NHA, AMT, NAHP, AMCA, AAH or ACA.
  OR


• Donor Phlebotomy Tech certification from the ASCP.
