Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Marketing and Communications Manager with a strong background in the security and smart home industry. This role will be responsible for driving our brand’s digital presence and communication efforts through social media marketing, content creation, press releases, graphic design, digital marketing campaigns, event planning, email marketing, and video editing. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, a keen eye for design, and the ability to execute marketing strategies that engage customers and increase brand awareness. This position offers the flexibility of working remotely, with a minimum of three in-office days per month and occasional travel to attend events or support marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Marketing:

Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to increase engagement, build brand awareness, and drive traffic to the website.

Content Creation:

Write, edit, and curate high-quality content for blogs, newsletters, email campaigns, and social media posts that align with our brand voice and strategic goals.

Press Releases and Public Relations:

Draft press releases, manage media relations, and coordinate public announcements to ensure positive coverage and brand reputation management.

Graphic Design:

Create visually appealing marketing materials such as brochures, social media graphics, and promotional assets using tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).

Digital Marketing:

Plan and implement digital marketing campaigns, including SEO/SEM, PPC, display advertising, and retargeting, to support lead generation and brand visibility.

Event Planning:

Organize and execute company events, trade shows, and other promotional events, ensuring effective communication of brand messages and offerings.

Email Marketing:

Design and manage email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, promotional offers, and customer communication, to build relationships and drive conversions.

Video Editing:

Create, edit, and produce high-quality video content for promotional purposes, including product demos, company updates, and educational content.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. (will accept experience in lieu of degree)
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in the security and/or smart home industry.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
  • Proven experience in graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in content creation and public relations.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with SEO, Google Analytics, and email marketing platforms (e.g., MailChimp, HubSpot).
  • Event planning experience is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work remotely with a minimum of 3 in-office days per month and travel as required.
