deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Hardware Technician in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

deciBel Research, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Hardware Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the build-out, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware systems across a wide range of IT systems and networks.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in the construction and setup of hardware systems, including the configuration and integration of components and completing interconnects according to design documentation.
  • Install and terminate cables supporting facility interconnects according to design documentation.
  • Support troubleshooting of hardware components and sub-systems for failure or functionality issues.
  • Provide feedback and documentation to support the configuration management process when performing buildout and integration activities.
  • Assist in defining schedules, assigning and executing tasks, and monitoring completion to ensure integration and checkout activities are on track.
  • Support engineering in the specification and selection of hardware solutions.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on equipment and maintaining detailed records and documentation of maintenance performed.
  • Assist the property manager with property inventory and audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

Associate Degree or higher in a related technical field.

Experience Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience in hardware and system support.
  • Ability to obtain a TS/TCI.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in terminating various types of cables.
  • Experience with building and configuring hardware systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing records and schedules.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing 30+ lbs.
  • Comfortable working in lab and industrial environments.
  • Must be able to stand, kneel, and work in confined spaces.

Special Skills Desired:

  • Active TS/SCI.
  • Understanding of configuration management processes and documentation change procedures.

Applicant selected must have an active Secret security clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
