Fort Pitt Capital Group – an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) – is currently seeking a Financial Planner to join our team. The Financial Planner will play a crucial role in supporting the firm’s Financial Advisors by preparing detailed financial plans, analyzing client data, and providing technical expertise. You’ll collaborate closely with advisors to ensure their clients receive top-tier, customized financial advice. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of financial planning and an interest in working behind the scenes to enhance client outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Financial Advisors to create and refine client-specific financial plans
  • Analyze client data (investments, tax returns, estate documents) to provide actionable recommendations
  • Develop retirement, tax, and estate planning strategies for advisors to present
  • Continuously monitor and adjust financial plans for life events, market shifts, and regulatory changes
  • Provide technical support and financial planning insights to advisors during client meetings
  • Stay updated on financial planning tools and trends to improve internal processes
  • Provide best practices and guidance to Paraplanners, elevating their capabilities
  • Collaborate across Advisor Teams, including Retirement Plan Services, to ensure alignment and timely execution of planning projects
  • Present financial planning updates and strategies at key Firm meetings (e.g., Monthly Advisor Sales Meeting, Firm Meeting)
  • Escalate critical issues to senior management when necessary, and handle challenges independently as appropriate
  • Implement best practices to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial planning reports

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 2 years of relevant experience in financial services is required
    • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) designation or a strong commitment to obtaining this designation within a specified time frame is strongly preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Financial Planning or as a Financial Advisor is required
    • Experience at a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) or Broker/Dealer is preferred
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required
    • Experience with financial planning software is required (eMoney preferred, Holistiplan a plus)
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or a similar customer relationship management system is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    • Strong understanding of finance and investment markets/securities
    • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel for financial analysis and forecasting
    • Ability to identify and understand drivers of both favorable and unfavorable variances in financial planning outcomes for clients and prospects
    • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines and achieve desired business outcomes
    • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information in an understandable manner to all levels within the firm
    • Proven ability to build strong relationships with business partners and team members, fostering collaboration and accountability
    • Motivated to make a positive impact on the team and the firm for the greater good
Position Details

  • Location: Green Tree, PA location (Foster Plaza)
  • Reporting To: Director of Sales
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
    • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
  • Work Arrangement: After 6-months, 4 days in-office and 1 day remote
  • Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week),
  • Travel: Little to no travel required
  • Compensation: Competitive base salary
